Glocalization is a social process that combines globalization and localization, global and local interests, when the ability to simultaneously think globally and act locally is the basis for decision–making. The concept of globalization is actively used in the field of logistics and transport.
On March 2, 2023, teachers of the Logistics educational program (School of Management) organized a round table "Training Glocal managers for the transport and logistics sector". The event was attended by 9 speakers – experts in the field of management of transport and logistics processes.
Zhanna Bekzhanova, the program leader for the Logistics educational program, made a welcoming speech, who highlighted the results and achievements of AlmaU students and shared long-term plans for the development of the educational program.
Then the report "Glocalization in the field of logistics process management" was delivered by Ph.D., associate professor Olga Kiseleva. Glocal trends in logistics were highlighted and a matrix of professional competencies was presented, divided into local and global skills.
The head of the sales department of Sprint logistic LLP, Temergaliev Olzhas, expressed the opinion that young specialists lack Soft-skills, such as communication, leadership, stress tolerance.
Commercial Director Ayupov Sultan of Sprint logistic LLP noted the lack of special knowledge when working with information systems.
Specialist in the organization of transportation of Transcom LLP, Ph.D. Aikumbekov Muslim associated the problem of lack of practical knowledge with the fact that the theoretical course is aimed more at acquiring professional knowledge. To strengthen the practical component in training, it is necessary to increase the staff of practical teachers, organize internships for teachers at production sites. These measures were supported by Deputy Director of Kazinterfracht LLP Yulia Ostroverkhova and offered to conduct part of the training sessions at the factory.
Chairman of the Union of Automobile Carriers and Forwarders of Kazakhstan Sadykova Assel stressed the importance of professional training and education of students in the workplace.
Secretary General of CILT CENTRAL ASIA Mukhaev Erbol noted the relevance of the topic raised, many companies are experiencing a personnel "hunger" and candidates often do not meet the requirements of employers. It is necessary to identify the best students during the internship and offer them a job in the future. An effective measure is the introduction of dual education.
Natalia Baratova, Head of the Logistics Department of IRON TRADE COMPANY LLP, expressed her willingness to accept students for practice, and also noted positive results during guest lectures.
In general, in the speeches of all the speakers, there was a common opinion that education and production should develop together, make an equal contribution to the development of professional personnel and the education of patriotism among the younger generation, Glocal managers - this is our common task.
